rain, rain go away!

this was the scene this morning in my bedroom. i can't even see out my window there's so much rain! and last night the thunder and lightning kept me up for hours! it was so scary. thank goodness i had a roommate to cuddle with.

i'm staying in bed for the rest of the day until this frightful storm passes. i can't risk my fur getting all wet!

baking with bear!

i decided to be a reeeaaallly nice roommate the other day and make my roomies some dessert - peanut butter cornflake bars! they were super tasty and super easy to make (no baking involved, which is good because i don't like to put my furry self too close to the oven)!

but it's now 5 days later and my paws are STILL sticky! i am never working with viscous peanut sauce ever again.

getting inked.

so i've been thinking about getting a tattoo (furtoo?), because my roommates both have them and frankly, i feel a little left out.

given that inking up my beautiful fur is a pretty big deal, i've been spending all my free time lately thinking up the perfect design. first i was considering a salmon, since it's one of my most favorite things! but then realized while wildly tasty, a fish definitely isn't a classy enough tattoo for me. even such a nice fish, like the salmon.

then i contemplated getting my favorite quote - "the bare necessities of life will come to you" - from The Jungle Book, but realized that may be a bit too long for my little body.

finally, i decided on the letter B (for Bear!). B is my favorite letter, and minimal and classic enough to fit my lowkey *but fabulous* style. so i went to the craft store and bought a package of letter stickers, so i could try on some B's and figure out the best placement for it.

my roommates liked it here on my chest, so i could show it off like a little (B)adge...

but i prefer it back here, next to my adorable little tail. plus then the B will have a double meaning! teehee.

my 15 minutes...

last night was the season finale of one of our favorite show's - america's next top model! we were sooo hoping for allison to win, but we'll have to settle for her coming in 2nd place.

i know, you ask - how do i appear on a modeling show, and not as one of the model contestants?! it was a travesty. i think they discriminate against bears.


PS - i know some of you may be skeptical about how snowy white my fur looks there, but the camera crew had MUCH better lighting than my roommates do when they take pictures of me.

PPS - speaking of my lovely fur, do we like my new header?! i've been working on that for weeks!

cinco de mess.

so apparently i got a leetle bit out of control last night after my day-long cinco de mayo fiesta. the floor is suspiciously gritty this morning. i blame those pesky margaritas! my roommates, however, blame me. hmmph.

so being the good little bear that i am, i decided to clean up the apartment this morning. i've never attempted vacuuming before - i don't do chores! - but since unemployed roomie was busy, i decided to heft the big old machine out of the closet myself and start cleaning up the floors to the best of my abearability.

little did i know how hard it would be to maneuver the big stupid monster! by the time i got into the bathroom my paws were burning, i had been wrapped in the hose three times, and i started feeling hot and delirious. this may or may not have contributed to the fact that i then put the vacuum a tad too close to our toilet paper holder...

uh oh.

and that wretched vacuum started sucking the paper in!! i stretched up to try and hit the OFF switch, but i couldn't reach it. hoisted by my own petard!

goodness. this musn't be two-ply!

the roll just kept on unraveling, the vacuum just sucking up miles and miles of toilet paper. when would it stop?! and what size rolls do these girls buy?!

stop the madness!

in a panic, i threw myself down on the bathroom floor and hoped that the crazy vacuum would just suck me up as well. thankfully, my roommate finally heard the ruckus in the bathroom and raced in to help. it took about five minutes to yank all that paper out of the vacuum hose. evil beast!

this bear is NEVER cleaning again!

its been so damp and gloomy outside, i'm spending my morning hanging out under my orchid, pretending i'm in the tropics.

you may not be aware, but i am a scrabble MANIAC. i love that game! and i'm sooo good at it too. i beat both my roommates last night - probably a combination of my superior vocabulary skills and my ability to hog all the triple word scores.

yesterday was one of my most favorite holidays...EASTER! i hope all my readers who celebrated had a very hoppy holiday! teehee. i love bunny humor.

i also love chocolate bunnies. and marshmallow bunnies. and jellybeans. and peeps. and cadbury cream eggs (although they made my paws all sticky!!). and robin's eggs. and reese's eggs. I LOVE CANDY!!

more holidays should be all about candy. how many more days is it until halloween??

i had such a good weekend, i hope you all did too. the highlight of mine was seeing my friend bearluva, mostly because he had a gift for me. a new blackbeary! now i can stop using my roomates. they don't take kindly to the phonebill running up on account of all my 900 numbers.

my roommates are teaching me how to drive! i'm so excited. mostly because my birthday is in two months, and i'd like to believe that i'll be getting a shiny new mercedes. or i'd settle for a ferrari, even. as long as it's sporty, and pretty, and red, and a convertible (i love having the wind in my fur!), and goes REALLY REALLY fast.

the girls are working me SO hard lately i don't have any time to blog anymore!!!!

i have callouses on my paws from taking so many notes. i need a vacation. thank goodness it's the weekend, so i can hopefully relax.

SNOW DAYYY!!

i awoke this morning to the biggest snowfall of the season - so exciting! even more exciting is that i work from home meaning i automatically get a snow day. thank goodness i bought new boots earlier in the winter - i'm all ready to go out and build a snowbear.

warming up my interview skills with my roommates. i am lucky enough to live with various ex-child stars. here's my friend grover, who you may recognize from sesame street or from our feature "not at the movies with ebear and groper."

snoopy is such a good interviewee. we had great banter. here we are singing a few bars from our pick for best song "jai ho" from slumdog millionaire.

donald is probably the most recognizable of my roomies and the most professional on the red carpet. he even turned the mic on moi and threw out a few hard hitting questions of his own.

He's Just Not That Into You

Ebear: well Groeper, i'm just glad we made it out of that theater without drowning in estrogen.

Groeper: hah, really. i felt quite bad for the five random dudes in the audience.

Ebear: there was enough of scar-jo's boobs to satisfy any man unfortunate enough to be dragged to see it. but i have to say considering the terrible book it was based on, this movie surpassed my expectations. for a 'chick flick' it wasn't SUCH a stupid chick flick.

Groeper: agreed - i was expecting something much more ridiculous. it was definitely more tolerable than, oh say, that disaster film sex and the city. there were actual storylines and character growth here.

Bear: and no scary old ladies! BURN!

back to normal.

whew! i know everyone was really really worried, but no cause for alarm...i was able to get my beautiful old fur color back. good as new!
